SHAKESPEARE IN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES

This past August, fall, and next spring we met and will meet with five local partner schools to bring live performance of Shakespeare's words, themes, and ideas into schools and public forums. Connecting modern societal issues with those illuminated so brilliantly by Shakespeare's work, we energize conversations around what it is to be human, to be in relationship, and how the language of Shakespeare amplifies the experience of being alive. Performances, talk backs, and workshops are all presented by The Neo-Political Cowgirls through the generous financial support of The National Endowment for the Arts, Arts Midwest, Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning, and The Town Of East Hampton.

"Live performance brings fresh breath to learning, moves the body and the imagination, and is deeply imperative for our young people today who are faced with the shut down of physical and language-and -ideas- infused learning."

- Kate Mueth, NPC Artistic Director
